Asia continues to strengthen its position as one of the world’s leading regions for higher education, research and innovation, with Chinese universities occupying nine of the top 10 positions in the latest regional ranking.
Peking University leads the list with an overall score of 100, followed by the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences with 99.9 and Zhejiang University with 99.7.
The ranking evaluates universities across five key indicators: Research Output, Citation Impact, Campus Ecosystem, Innovation, and Accreditation & Quality.
All ten universities featured in the Asian top 10 are also ranked among the world’s top 27 universities, highlighting the strong global position of Asia’s leading academic institutions.

China dominates the Asian top 10
The most notable feature of the ranking is the dominance of Chinese universities.
Nine of the ten universities in the Asian top 10 are located in China, while the National University of Singapore is the only institution from another country.
China also occupies five of the top nine positions in the global ranking presented here, with Peking University ranking third worldwide, the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences fourth, Zhejiang University sixth, Tsinghua University eighth, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University ninth.
The results point to the growing strength of Chinese universities in research, innovation, academic quality and global competitiveness.
A remarkably close competition
The gap between the first and tenth universities is only 1.2 points.
Peking University leads with 100 points, while Sichuan University, which occupies tenth place in Asia, records 98.8.
